Research at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf (HHU)
Heinrich Heine University has five faculties which are very strong in research and provide young researchers and visiting scholars with an excellent research environment. International and interdisciplinary Research Training Groups, Research Units and Collaborative Research Centers facilitate a successful start to an academic career. Faculty of Law
19 professors are engaged in teaching and research at the Faculty of Law of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf; four institutes are centres of academic work with close ties to everyday law practice. 11 honorary professors and about 70 lecturers, who contribute their practical experience as judges and lawyers, support the teaching curriculum An overview about their research can be found here.
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
Featuring seven individual departments – Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Physics and Psychology – the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences displays a highly modern- and future-oriented organizational structure with each academic sub department offering independent degree programs. Faculty of Medicine
Today the Faculty of Medicine comprises 31 institutes, 30 clinics, and two central facilities (an animal experiment facility and a biomedical research center). The current and prospective fields of research in the Medical and Natural Science disciplines are: Hepatology, Cardial and Vascular Diseases, Environmental Medicine, Gerontology, Neuro and Behavioral Sciences as well as Infection Biology. Faculty of Arts and Humanities
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is the faculty for humanities, cultural studies and social sciences at Heinrich Heine University. It comprises 12 different institutes. Further information on the research in the individual institutes can be found here.
Faculty of Business Administration and Economics
The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics cooperates with a large number of scientific institutions from inside and outside Europe.
